Presentation V/VI Overview
Course Outline / Purpose
A business case presents a problem that a business or a businessperson is facing. The class will discuss the problem and the different ways to solve it. You will spend a large part of each class talking in small groups, and doing role-plays and presentations about the cases. Active participation in English is required.
The aims are to improve your English fluency and expand your English vocabulary, particularly language useful in business, and to develop your business skills in presentation and persuasion, teamwork, and problem solving.
Goals
Be able to read and understand business cases.
Use English to discuss various issues facing businesses.
Distinguish facts and opinions in English texts.
Use English to present facts and opinions about business cases.
Debate and negotiate in English.
Class method
Each unit will follow these basic steps:
A. Presentation and discussion of general theme.
B. Reading on Business Case and directed vocabulary study.
C. Group discussions and problem-solving.
D. Presentation activities such as role-plays and group presentations.

The primary aim of this course is to develop students’ understanding of English, especially English conversation and vocabulary skills.
Goals
Understand and use appropriate vocabulary for the topics.
Use varied strategies to maintain a conversation.
Use varied structures to exchange information.
Hold natural, fluent conversations for 4 to 5 minutes on everyday topics.
Class method
Students will learn and practice vocabulary use and conversation strategies, with instructor guidance and assistance. Most of the class time will be spent in pairs or small groups doing speaking exercises. It is very important to attend and participate regularly.
Students will also take grammar and vocabulary quizzes.
